Midnight sun

One of the warmest weeks to the beginning of the summer did not stop us from wanting to celebrate the Midnight Sun. We can't believe after years of dreaming we finally got to celebrate the summer solstice in style with our very own secret super club.

We partnered this year to celebrate the summer solstice with the lawyers overlook. A charming little house tucked away in the oldham county country side filled with windows perfect for viewing the sun on that hot June night.

To kick off the night, drinks were served on the patio by the Hive and Barrel Meadery and Mile Wide Brewery as guest mingled and ate snacks. While guest snacked on panels cheese with papaya chipotle salsa and avocado shrimp salsa with plantain chips.

Guest were invited to come inside and sit at two long tables adorned with fresh sunflowers and the arm glow of candles, while awaiting them was a fresh watermelon and feta salad sprinkled with chili lime pepitas and mint.

Served next were grilled ribeyes with corn and raddish salsa, drizzled with chimichurri sauce, served on a bed of couscous with rajas. Crispy cauliflower with romesco, chili oil and a cooling yogurt sauce. And as a special treat we had fried zucchini blossoms stuffed with spinach and ricotta.

A only way to end any secret dinner is with a perfect sweet ending. We served fresh strawberry tamales with a horchata sauce, local bee pollen, and our very own favorite Louisville cream pistachio honey comb ice cream.

After dinner guest gathered around outside to watch the final sunset and feel the fresh cool breeze as a local guitar player strummed in the background. It was the perfect excuse to hang out just a little longer take the last few sips of there drinks and soak in the view with new friends just a little bit longer.
